The redesigned Aquios® SP220 is a point of use (POU) system for the prevention and reduction of lime scale accumulation and sediment on the inside of tankless water heaters and traditional water heaters. This system is designed to be installed before the water heater with the primary purpose of protecting your water heater. Our new design comes with a new drain kit that allows you to drain the water before changing the cartridge.

The ScalePlus™ Scale Reduction Water Heater System is designed specifically for tankless water heaters and traditional water heaters. The polypropylene housing housing utilizes our 5 micron 20” sediment filter which includes our proprietary scale prevention media designed to prevent and reduce harmful scale build up on heating elements and water heater tanks.

This wall mounted unit is designed to be installed prior to a water heater and will provide a flow rate of up to 14 gallons per minute (GPM). The standard inlet and outlet connections are 3/4” NPT and has a design pressure of 125 PSI (6.6 bar) with a maximum operating temperature of 113°F (45°C). The melt blown, polypropylene cartridge has graded depth filtration to provide exceptional dirt loading capacity with high flow rates and minimal pressure loss.

The proprietary scale prevention media is designed specifically for extreme water conditions found in high temperature filtration applications. The media is designed to last 6 months.

Aquios® uses a commercial grade, salt-free water softening technology to naturally condition your water and protect your pipes from corrosion and scale without the use of salt. Our systems utilize a food grade polyphosphate that inhibits and prevents hard water scale including calcium, manganese, and iron. Our technology sequesters hard water minerals and acts as a threshold inhibitor. This prevents hard water minerals from binding together and creating scale. In addition, our salt free technology also provides an anti-corrosive protective barrier that will protect your pipes and plumbing. The Aquios® system does not de-mineralize your water, adds no salt, is environmentally friendly, and is safe for your family and the environment.

It supports our 2.5" cartridge which utilizes a polypropylene, graded depth design with our salt-free, scale prevention media to condition your water at the point of entry. Our cartridge is rated for 3 to 6 months and filters your water at 5 microns.
